SASK Haiti Medical & Dental Team

This Saskatchewan based team of 14 members will be traveling to Grand Goave, Haiti to hold a Medical clinic.
This year we have added a dentist who will provide much needed dental care. We also will be taking along some
experienced tradesman who will help with building projects for Haiti ARISE.

We aim to teach the Haitians working along side us so that their skills will in turn serve their own people. We are
grateful to everyone who has donated finances and items of goods to help us fill our many pieces of luggage in
supplying the needs of the clinic.

Left Winter Behind.....

It wasn`t too hard to leave cold Saskatchewan and arrive in warm Haiti.
We had no problems at customs as they briefly peaked into 2 suitcases and waved us all through.

As most of the team have been here before, we immediately noticed the huge improvements during the drive to Haiti ARISE, in the landscape with rubble cleaned up and crops planted, beginnings of recycling, roads fixed and painted building and signs. Being Saturday, the markets were bustling with food, clothing and wares with  donkeys tethered nearby for the trek home.
After meeting with Leah the clinic pharmacist/administrator, we began unpacking the 29 suitcases that we brought. There were big smiles that came on the Haitian staff as they saw the “reinforcements” that we had brought.

Our dentist happy with his new office!
Ceiligh quickly put to work and did a great job.
All hands on deck....
